Well I have just had a parcel arrive from Ken Brady
at Model Rail Sales & Constructions. I have finally received a second
controller and nine adapters to be positioned around the layout. Obviously,
this impressed Jade immensely, until she saw the bill.
|
 |
So whilst Jade kept mumbling something about
my "imminent operation", I decided to get these little marvels fitted.
You are now reading the ramblings of one very happy Adam. Just incase
you didn't pick it up in previous chapters, I love this DCC stuff.
When it is easy enough for me to install, then you know it is truly
child proof. |
|
| The air conditioning is being fitted at present
and this should make my proposals of living in the layout room seem
more legitimate. I have also decided that the layout needs another
industry. How bout a grain silo? Fair enough, so I will build a
small branch line to service a grain silo. |
 |
|
| This will run off the western end of Summiton
yard and be based on an article in Model Railroader that I have. Overall
the silo complex will measure 665mm in height. Given that the layout is
already 1200mm above the ground, this should be pretty impressive. |
 |
I'll start on the branch at a later date. Let's
get some scenery done on this mountain. I have started placing the
ground cover into position and will try to con my Jade into making
some trees… about 1200 should do it for the mountain area. |
|
| So after almost becoming a victim of domestic
violence, I decided to make a few trees myself. And of course (as
is normal for me) I got side tracked and ended up building more
wagons and finishing a third loco 2312. |
 |
|
 |
So after all this non tree making, I decided I
should run some trains and think about things a bit more before
getting stuck into the trees. In all fairness to myself, I did manage
to get about a dozen trees made and "planted". However, given the
size of the area to be covered, my dozen trees did look somewhat
like a small sneeze on a giant tissue. |
|
| I did however manage to get the first building
on the layout. There is now a three door trolley shed (WM kit QRS002)
on the Holmes passing loop. I am thinking of changing the name of
Holmes as well… maybe Holman? |

We shall see how we go next time.
