‘Twas the night before Saturday and all through the
state, not a patch of ground was dry, for goodness’ sake.
The rain had come down, the farmers giggled with glee. With all the
pitter patter on the roof, I needed a pee.
My paint supply was low, so I couldn’t go to bed. To Brisbane I must
go, was I out of my head?
|
 |
Anyway, that’s enough poetry type stuff from me.
I thought I should head down to Bris-vegas to grab some paint. Due
to the rain and the promise of possible flooding, I figured it was
more sensible to take the car instead of the bike. At this point
I learned that Matt and Paul would be heading out to the house on
Sunday afternoon. |
|
| Ok, so I’ll have to be home by Sunday morning…
Easier said then done when it comes to my mates. |
| I managed to spend the entire weekend chin wagging
with a couple of mates and remembered to leave Nundah at around
11am. After a quick dash back to Jandowae, I managed to get home
about 20 minutes before Matt and Paul arrived. |
 |
|
 |
So with the arrival of our latest visitors it
was (as always) straight to the layout room. After a little bit
of a chin wag on what’s new with the layout, we got down to the
serious (stop laughing, Jade) business of running trains. |
|
| We were left alone to play trains for a little
while, until, that is, my darling wife burst through the door like
Rambo…. Only meaner! There was the terrifying image of Jade Rambo
Wuiske filling the door way and blocking our only possible means
of escape. |
 |
|
| Matt, Paul and I retired to a corner upon
noticing she was armed with some sort of Semi Automatic… camera. |
 |
So with that, a barrage of shots where taken
that could only be rivaled in their rapidity by those of the Valentine’s
day massacre. The shrill screams and agonized faces of terror from
what had just moments earlier been three men were silhouetted against
the walls by the incessant flashing that ensued. |
|
If you think I am being just a tad melodramatic
then you really do need to see what happens to Jade once she is
entrusted with a camera. In any case, I hope you enjoy the photos.
Matt and Paul bought a few of their locos and wagons with them.
Paul had a 1450 class that ran beautifully. I think it was |
 |
|
|
an old AR Kits mechanism, but this loco would be a
perfect candidate for installing sound.
|
 |
Matt ran his 2800 class in QRN colours. This
loco has appeared in a few places over the last year or so (usually
associated with our layout) and the amount of emails I have received
is staggering. And you can see why we had to do the decals. Whilst
I am not a fan of this colour scheme, it certainly stands out. |
|
After playing trains for about 4 hours, Matt and
Paul decided the burgers at the Mobil in Dalby were beckoning. So
with that, Jade and I sat down over a coffee to ponder the returning
silence of Jandowae… That was until I got an SMS...
“Hey Jade, Guss says he is coming out next weekend to run some trains”…
|
 |
Will Adam ever get anything more done on the layout?
Will Connie stop barking at the grass?
Will Jade ever manage to wear this damn camera out?
Why is there no Q in the word dog?
Will Adam ever get back to writing about his layout, instead of this
babble that he is presently spewing forth?
Does the fact that Adam is typing this and questioning his literary
endeavors mean he has truly lost the plot?
Shall we see how we go?
