Chapter 27 - 18/04/2008

Well here we go again…

This time around, I have decided to get the section between Harlexton Ballast Quarry and Holman Passing Loop sceniced. The idea was to hide the upper track and expose a short section of the lower track. This manages to confuse the eye enough so that it is hard to work out where the train will appear next.
And when there is two trains crossing, its certain to confuse one and all.

I painted the plaster as per previous chapters, except I used several washes until I achieved a colour I was happy with.
So far as laying the ground cover materials and dirt, I just let gravity take its course. This way areas that should have just bare rock exposed do and those areas that should be covered are. Some scrubs and trees should complete the scene in the not to distant future.
As I have mentioned in previous corners, one of the things I love about modeling is the way you can fool the eye with careful placement of scenery, tunnels and so on.

Well I’ll let you be the judge of how it is coming on thus far.
Its that time of year again when we get ready for the Brisbane Miniature Train Show.
Jade and I really enjoy this show as we get a chance to have a chinwag with a lot of you.

This year we have a lot of new kits making their first appearance. Such as the VAOW Woodchip hoppers and the ITS sleeper wagons (a personal favorite of mine).
We will also be releasing the DH loco kit at the show.

This year we will also have a whole swag of specials, such as the popular five packs.

If you are heading to the Brisbane Miniature Train Show this year, make sure you stop in and say “G’day” to Jade and myself.

We look forward to seeing you there.
