So with the impending threat of a junior Wuiske being
added to the vastly under chlorinated Wuiske gene pool, I thought it
was about time to put finger to keyboard and spit out another chapter.
A couple weeks ago we had Ted Freeman and Russell Hartwig
from the Darling Downs Model Railway Club turn up for a visit. With
that bringing the total number of lunatics under the Wuiske roof to
an all time high, an interesting weekend was assured.
|
 |
So as this was Teddle's and Russell's first visit
to Planet Jandowae the first stop was (obviously) the layout room.
Obviously within three and a half seconds, both Ted and Russell
had controllers in their hands and were plotting to recreate the
famous scenes from The Addams Family. |
|
|
So after many tears, death threats and the odd bribe
here and there, the layout returned to normal running… Well as normal
as it ever gets.
|
|
It is worth mentioning that Ted is the "gentleman"
who makes our decals, so if you were one of the four people out
there who purchased a 4000 class and discovered swearing in the
fine print you know who to blame. That's right Ted's sense of
humour can at times be worse than mine.
|
 |
|
 |
With all of that aside it was shortly
time for a "quick" game of Monopoly. As usual Jade became a teensy
bit obsessed, this lasted for a good 20 minutes until the unmistakable
fact dawned on her that she was loosing… badly. In fact, such a
bad loss has not been seen since Custer famously said, "Whad'ya
reckon we follow those Indians over that hill." |
|
So after putting up a dismal fight for
at least fifteen minutes, I was out of the game and relegated to making
Teddles and Russell their fancy, poofy, weird and mental coffees.
Next out was Russell. Thankfully Russell managed to avoid debtors' jail
by finding employment as Ted's "counting boy". As the official counting
boy for Ted, Russell's job was fairly straight forward… He would count
all of the money Ted was extracting from Jade. He would also then try
and see how long he could go without trying to choke Ted on his newly
acquired wealth after continually making statements such as, "Here boy,
count!"
So with lots of ducking and weaving on Ted's part, interlaced with crying
and whimpering from the now very broke Jade, Ted was eventually declared
the winner. |

It is at this point I would like to announce
the recent release of our MAS sleeping car. We are intending to
release the entire fleet of Lander cars over the next year or
so. This equals over thirty different coaches (yes I was surprised
at the number also).
|
 |
|
 |
We will also have another two passenger
coaches being released VERY shortly. As well as some new bogies
and a few other surprises. That should explain why there has been
a bit of quiet from the Wuiske Asylum of late. Yes we have been
head down bum up getting a lot of new kits ready. |
|
| As for how soon these appear, well as always
we shall see how we go. |
