This chapter is a bit
of a short one due to the fact that we are getting ready for another
show and heading off in the morning. This chapter also features
lots of disgustingly cute photos of Keith and even more shameless
hinting at new products than usual…
So here goes.
|
|
|
This year we have committed ourselves to doing
more shows than we have ever done in the past.
A fortnight ago we were standing at the Ashmore PCYC for the Gold
Coast Model Railway Clubs inaugural show.
And what a show it was!

|
 |
|
 |
Jade, Keith and I had
a great time. It was one of the best organised shows I have ever
been too. The club members were always up for a chinwag and being
a PCYC I knew there were plenty of police lurking around just
in case Jade misbehaved.
|
|
|
Obviously the best two parts of the show were
that Keith got to go to a petting zoo that was held on the Saturday
and he had a huge polished floor to dance around in his walker.
Throughout the weekend, Keith dropped in on Uncle Warren and Aunty
Kathleen from Gwydir Valley Models as well as Peter from Train
Tables to name a few.
|
 |
|
| I am sure he thought the show was just there
for him to wander around greeting people and being adored. |
 |
Having said that, I am sure this show
is going to go from strength to strength over the coming years.
So on behalf of Jade, Keith and I we would like to thank the Gold
Coast Model Railway Club for their fantastic hospitality and for
making a wonderful weekend. In particular I would like to thank
Phil Mooney and Roc for all their time and effort. |
|
| I’m sure if I do much more boot licking
here, I’m going to go down with a nasty case of cherry blossom poisoning.
In any case we had a ball. |
|
Coming up next we will be heading to the Pine
Rivers Model Train and Hobby Expo (aka the Strathpine Show). The
Railway Modellers club of Queensland is holding their annual show
and this year will be our first time attending it.
|
 |
|
 |
From everything we have heard, it
should be a great show with lots of floor space for Keith to roll
around and make sure he isn’t being under adored. I’ve heard there
will even be some layouts there too. For this show we will be announcing
a few new things happening, so if you are in the area this weekend,
drop in and say “G’day”. |
|
|
As it is the 4th of August as I type away with
two fingers moving at the speed of a thousand spastic mudcrabs
I feel I should point out that little Keith is (as of yesterday)
seven months old. That’s right the little Wuiske spawn (produced
without written consent from the CSIRO) is getting inquisitive
and mobile… albeit with a little assistance.
|
 |
|
After a lot of begging and pleading from
you all over the last twelve months, Wuiske Models is proud to announce
that we will be releasing some brand new mechanisms. When I say brand
new they are actually an old design produced by a local Brisbanite that
will be priced at a more reasonable level than some on offer at present.
These mechs feature a tried and tested split frame method for the drive
train (not rubber bands, voodoo or prayer powered) and run flawlessly.
They also have the weight to help with their pulling power. We will be
announcing these over the next month or two for the 2100, 2170, 2300,
2470, 1720, 1300 and 1200 class locos. So as always keep your eye on the
site and see what’s coming.
We will also be announcing something much bigger and better than mechanisms
in the very near future as well. But as always, we shall see how we go.
